Tottenham Back in Ajax Academic Graduates
Tottenham Hotspur monitored Ajax Amsterdam’s match as they were watching Justin Kluivert and Donny van de Beek.
In keeping with their transfer policy, Spurs focus on watching young players throughout Europe, especially Ajax in Holland, Bayer Leverkusen and Hoffenheim in Germany, and Monaco in France.
Van de Beek was impressive in midfield Ajax this season despite being 20 years old, with one goal and one assist, and one of the best performers in the team so far.
While Kluivert, the son of former Dutch and Barcelona striker Patrick Kluivert, was watched by Spurs for some time.
Spurs are also actively pursuing Leverkusen’s Kai Havertz, an 18-year-old German player who has performed more than 30 times in the Bundesliga and has scored three assists this season.
Steve Hitchen is the head of Spurs’ talent scout, and last summer he picked up five players, Davinson Sanchez, Juan Foyth, Serge Aurier, Fernando Llorente and Paulo Gazzaniga to strengthen the squad.
